The Solution
We developed a richly engaging concept that placed the biscuits’ chocolate-coated nature at the heart of the narrative. Each tin features a whimsical illustration that humorously imagines how the biscuits become coated in chocolate. From cows blowing chocolate through horns to a whale spouting it in fountains, perfectly in line with Fortnum’s playful tone of voice. The backdrops were inspired by the ingredients and their origins, adding depth and provenance to the storytelling.
The Impact
The quirky yet luxurious design elevated the chocolate biscuits into more than just a treat, they became a favourite gifting item. The collection was so well received that it quickly earned a place as a permanent fixture in the brand’s portfolio, regarded as a timeless classic. The packaging has won numerous design awards including first place at the Deline and The Drum.
